Best Eats: Vancouver

Our favorite part about traveling is getting to try different cuisine around the world. We spend as much time researching places to eat as we do sights to go see.  Vancouver is a food mecca in the Pacific Northwest with a variety of modern and ethnic restaurants at your fingertips. Here are some of our favorites.

Phnom Penh

244 E Georgia St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1Z7, Canada

This hole in the wall Cambodian restaurant was our #1 favorite food stop in Vancouver. Anthony Bourdain visited this little place in Chinatown on his show and gushed about its amazing food.  Places like this are a true gem, with an hour wait and packed with locals we knew we were in for a treat. Famous for their melt in your mouth buttered beef and asian style chicken wings this place was a total delight and easy on our wallet.

Famous Buttered Beef. Lightly seared and almost a carpaccio this dish was insanely delicious with a pop of asian spices and flavor.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

With a ton of ramen spots to pick from we asked a couple locals and they directed us here and it did not disappoint. Known for their flavorful pork jowl ramen and interesting asian milkshakes this mouthwatering ramen was a highlight on our food tour through Vancouver.
